You're Not Alone

"Why does everyone else hit so hard while my damage is terrible?" This is the #1 question we get. The good news? It's usually an easy fix once you know what's wrong.

This guide covers the most common reasons for low PVP damage and exactly how to fix each one. We'll use our damage calculator to show you the impact of each fix.

Top 10 Reasons Your Damage Is Low

1. Wrong Stat Balance

The Problem: You have 3500 Attack but only 25% Crit Rate. Or 70% Crit Rate but 1800 Attack.

Why It's Bad: Damage is multiplicative. Extreme stats in one area give diminishing returns while ignoring other stats cripples your total damage.

Example:

❌ 3500 ATK, 25% Crit = 10,500 avg damage

✅ 2500 ATK, 50% Crit = 12,500 avg damage

The Fix:

  • • Aim for 2400-2800 Attack
  • • Get Crit Rate to 45-55%
  • • Crit Damage to 200-220%
  • • Use Attack vs Crit guide for your build

2. Using Wrong Build for Your Gear

The Problem: You're playing Bellstrike-Umbra (burst build) but your gear has low Crit Damage.

Why It's Bad: Each build needs specific stats. Burst builds NEED high Crit Damage. Sustained builds NEED high Attack.

The Fix:

  • • Check Best PVP Build guide
  • • Match your build to your gear stats
  • • If you have high Attack, play Bamboocut
  • • If you have high Crit, play Bellstrike

3. Ignoring Martial Arts Synergy

The Problem: Your martial arts don't match your build. Using defensive martial arts on a damage build.

Why It's Bad: Martial arts can add 30-50% damage through bonuses and synergies. Wrong martial arts = massive damage loss.

The Fix:

  • • Use damage-focused martial arts
  • • Match element types (if applicable)
  • • Check Martial Arts guide
  • • Prioritize martial arts with Attack/Crit bonuses

4. Weapon Is Underleveled

The Problem: Your weapon is 10+ levels below your character level.

Why It's Bad: Weapon provides 60-70% of your base damage. An underleveled weapon cripples everything.

Impact:

Level 50 weapon at Level 60 = ~40% damage loss

The Fix:

  • • Upgrade weapon FIRST, before anything else
  • • Weapon > Armor > Accessories priority
  • • Even a lower rarity max-level weapon beats high rarity underleveled

5. Not Using Skill Rotation Properly

The Problem: You're spamming random skills instead of following optimal rotation.

Why It's Bad: Skill rotation can double your DPS. Some skills buff others, some have higher multipliers.

The Fix:

  • • Learn your build's optimal rotation
  • • Use buff skills before damage skills
  • • Save high-damage skills for when buffs are active
  • • Check build guides for rotations

6. Fighting Enemies with High Defense

The Problem: You're attacking tanky enemies without penetration.

Why It's Bad: 3000 Defense reduces your damage by 75%. Without penetration, you're hitting a brick wall.

Defense Impact:

vs 1000 Def: -50% damage

vs 2000 Def: -66% damage

vs 3000 Def: -75% damage

The Fix:

  • • Add penetration stats/skills
  • • Use armor-shred abilities
  • • Target squishy enemies first
  • • Consider builds with built-in penetration

7. Missing Gear Enhancements

The Problem: Your gear isn't enhanced/refined/gemmed.

Why It's Bad: Enhancements add 20-40% stats. It's free damage you're leaving on the table.

The Fix:

  • • Enhance all gear to max level
  • • Add gems (Attack/Crit gems priority)
  • • Refine gear for better substats
  • • Don't neglect accessories

8. Wrong Gear Set Bonuses

The Problem: You're wearing random pieces instead of completing sets.

Why It's Bad: Set bonuses give 15-25% damage. Mixing sets loses these bonuses.

The Fix:

  • • Complete 2-piece or 4-piece sets
  • • Use damage-focused sets for PVP
  • • Check Armor Sets guide
  • • Lower rarity complete set > higher rarity mixed pieces

9. Not Using Buffs/Consumables

The Problem: You're fighting without food buffs, potions, or temporary buffs.

Why It's Bad: Buffs add 20-30% damage. Top players always use them.

The Fix:

  • • Use Attack/Crit food before PVP
  • • Pop damage potions during fights
  • • Activate all available buffs
  • • Don't save consumables "for later"

10. Comparing to Whales/Endgame Players

The Problem: You're comparing your damage to max-geared players.

Why It's Bad: Endgame gear can have 2-3x your stats. It's not a fair comparison.

The Fix:

  • • Compare to players at your gear level
  • • Focus on improving YOUR damage, not matching whales
  • • Use Damage Scaling guide for realistic targets
  • • Progress takes time—be patient
