Damage Formula Guide

Complete breakdown of damage calculation mechanics in Where Winds Meet. Understanding these formulas will help you optimize your build.

General Formula

Final Damage = Base Damage × Crit Zone × Affinity Zone × Damage Bonus Zone × Independent Zone × Damage Reduction Zone × Penetration Zone × Tuning Zone × Damage Deepening Zone

1. Base Damage

(Phys ATK - Phys DEF) × Phys Multiplier + Fixed DMG + (Primary Element ATK + Hidden) × Primary Multiplier + Secondary Element ATK × Secondary Multiplier
  • Damage fluctuates due to min/max attack values
  • When min > max, all damage uses min value

2. Critical Damage

Crit DMG = Base DMG × (1 + Base Crit DMG + Crit DMG Bonus)

3. Affinity Damage

Affinity DMG = Base DMG (Max ATK) × (1 + Base Affinity DMG + Affinity Bonus)

4. Damage Bonus / Debuff Zone

Damage bonus and debuffs share the same zone and are additive.

⚠️ Damage reduction is multiplicative!

5. Independent Zone

Example: Rope Dart's Niyu 3 (泥鱼3)

6. Damage Reduction

Final = Base × (1-DR₁) × (1-DR₂) × ... × (1-DRₙ)

7. Penetration / Resistance

Pen Zone = (Pen - Res) / 200 (if positive: / 100)

Physical penetration also affects fixed damage

9. Damage Deepening

Martial arts talent passives like "Physical/Element damage deepened by XX%" act as independent damage bonus for specific attributes.

8. Precision / Crit / Affinity / Graze

Default: Precision is checked first. On precision hit: Crit, Normal, or Affinity. On precision miss: Affinity or Graze.

When Crit + Affinity ≤ 100%

  • Actual Affinity = Affinity Rate
  • Actual Crit = Precision × Crit
  • Graze = (1-Precision) × (1-Affinity)

When Crit + Affinity > 100%

Affinity squeezes Crit:

Actual Crit = Precision × (1 - Affinity)

11. Judgment Resistance

Precision = 65% + Other Precision / (1 + Judgment Resistance)

Panel Crit = Normal Crit / 1.15 (Affinity same)

Except for Modao charge talent, most other attributes are affected by resistance.

12. Five Attributes Conversion

10. Healing Related

  • Precision, Graze, Affinity are ineffective. Default 100% precision, only Crit and non-Crit.
  • Low-level dungeons have 100% healing bonus in general damage bonus zone.
  • Secondary element attack is ineffective (0 benefit), only Physical ATK and Qiansi work.
  • Has ±10% independent healing fluctuation.
