Understanding Stat Priority

Not all stats are created equal in PVP. Knowing which stats to prioritize can double your damage output with the same gear. This guide breaks down exactly which stats matter most and how to allocate your points.

We'll cover stat priorities for different builds, breakpoints to aim for, and how to use our damage calculator to optimize your distribution.

Universal Stat Priority (All Builds)

1. Weapon Damage

HIGHEST PRIORITY

Your weapon provides 60-70% of your base damage. Always upgrade weapon first before anything else.

Impact: +10 weapon levels = ~30-40% damage increase

2. Attack

VERY HIGH

Foundation stat that scales all damage. Every 100 Attack = ~10% more damage. Essential baseline.

Target: 2400-3000 depending on build

3. Critical Rate

HIGH

Chance to deal critical damage. Works multiplicatively with Crit Damage for massive burst.

Target: 45-60% (diminishing returns after 60%)

4. Critical Damage

HIGH

Multiplier for critical hits. Useless without Crit Rate, but devastating when combined.

Target: 200-250% (base is 150%)

5. Penetration

MEDIUM

Reduces enemy defense. More valuable against tanky enemies, less against squishy targets.

Target: 500-1000 (situational)

6. HP / Defense

LOW

Survivability stats. Important for bruiser builds, less so for glass cannon builds.

Target: Varies by build (see Defense vs HP guide)

Stat Distribution by Build Type

Burst Damage Builds (Bellstrike)

Focus: One-shot potential, high crit multipliers

Recommended Stats:

  • Attack: 2400-2800 (moderate, not max)
  • Crit Rate: 50-60% (high consistency)
  • Crit Damage: 220-250% (maximize burst)
  • Penetration: 300-500 (optional)
  • HP/Defense: Minimal (glass cannon)

Stat Priority Order:

Crit Damage → Crit Rate → Attack → Penetration → Survivability

Sustained Damage Builds (Bamboocut)

Focus: Consistent DPS, longer fights, survivability

Recommended Stats:

  • Attack: 2800-3200 (maximize base damage)
  • Crit Rate: 45-50% (moderate)
  • Crit Damage: 200-220% (balanced)
  • Penetration: 500-800 (important)
  • HP/Defense: 15-20% of budget

Stat Priority Order:

Attack → Crit Rate → Penetration → Crit Damage → Survivability

Balanced/Bruiser Builds (Stonesplit)

Focus: Durability, consistent damage, team fights

Recommended Stats:

  • Attack: 2200-2600 (moderate)
  • Crit Rate: 40-45% (lower priority)
  • Crit Damage: 180-200% (baseline)
  • Penetration: 600-1000 (high)
  • HP/Defense: 25-30% of budget

Stat Priority Order:

Attack → Defense/HP → Penetration → Crit Rate → Crit Damage

Important Stat Breakpoints

Certain stat thresholds give you significant power spikes. Aim for these breakpoints:

Attack Breakpoints

  • 2000: Minimum for viable PVP damage
  • 2500: Comfortable baseline for most builds
  • 3000: High Attack threshold (diminishing returns start)
  • 3500+: Only for pure Attack builds (not recommended)

Crit Rate Breakpoints

  • 30%: Too low, inconsistent crits
  • 45%: Minimum for crit-focused builds
  • 50%: Sweet spot for most builds
  • 60%: High consistency (diminishing returns after)
  • 70%+: Overkill, invest elsewhere

Crit Damage Breakpoints

  • 150%: Base value (too low)
  • 200%: Minimum for burst builds
  • 220%: Comfortable burst damage
  • 250%: High burst (one-shot potential)
  • 280%+: Extreme burst (requires sacrifices)

Penetration Breakpoints

  • 0-300: Minimal impact
  • 500: Noticeable vs medium defense
  • 800: Strong vs tanky enemies
  • 1000+: Maximum effectiveness

How to Allocate Your Stat Points

When you get new gear or level up, follow this decision tree:

Stat Allocation Decision Tree

  1. Step 1: Check Your Attack
    • • If Attack < 2000: Add Attack first
    • • If Attack 2000-2500: Continue to Step 2
    • • If Attack > 3000: Stop adding Attack, go to Step 2
  2. Step 2: Check Your Crit Rate
    • • If Crit Rate < 45%: Add Crit Rate
    • • If Crit Rate 45-55%: Continue to Step 3
    • • If Crit Rate > 60%: Stop adding Crit Rate, go to Step 3
  3. Step 3: Check Your Crit Damage
    • • If Crit DMG < 200%: Add Crit Damage
    • • If Crit DMG 200-220%: Continue to Step 4
    • • If Crit DMG > 250%: Diminishing returns, go to Step 4
  4. Step 4: Balance or Specialize
    • • Add Penetration if fighting tanky enemies
    • • Add more Attack for sustained builds
    • • Add more Crit for burst builds
    • • Add HP/Defense if dying too fast

Common Stat Mistakes

❌ Ignoring Stat Ratios

Having 3000 Attack with 20% Crit is worse than 2000 Attack with 50% Crit. Balance matters more than raw numbers. See Attack vs Crit guide.

❌ Copying Pro Builds Blindly

Top players have different gear and playstyles. Their stat distribution might not work for you. Adapt builds to your situation.

❌ Neglecting Weapon Upgrades

No amount of stat optimization beats a better weapon. Always upgrade weapon first. Check Why My Damage Is Low for more.

❌ Not Testing Changes

Theory is good, but testing is better. Use the calculator to verify your stat changes actually improve damage.
